Twilio: Duplicated Super SIM MT SMS Commands in Very Rare Cases
Timeline of updates
- resolved
We identified an issue where devices using Super SIM may receive duplicated MT SMS Commands. The error rate is estimated to be 0.084%. By design SMS may be delivered multiple times. For customers who are sending several Commands in a short period, devices are more likely to receive duplicates. We confirm that MT SMS Commands are billed exactly once, even when delivered multiple times. We have identified the sender(s) with the highest impact and provided a mitigation. We've proceeded ro resolve this incident.

Archive proof
Rewindex commits each version of an incident it captures to a daily checkpoint, chains it to the day before, and has the checkpoint timestamped by FreeTSA and DigiCert.
How the archive is checked, and what it cannot prove.
This incident predates live tracking (October 17, 2026). It came from the vendor’s own published history, which is not covered by checkpoints.
Impact, status and times are the vendor’s own, as last archived. View on status.twilio.com (opens in new tab).
