Pinecone: eu-west1-gcp unavailable due to certificate errors
Timeline of updates
- resolved
Beginning 8:45AM UTC, July 20th, 2022, all incoming HTTPS traffic to the eu-west1-gcp environment failed. The root cause was that all of the HTTPS certificates which had expired at this time failed to renew due to a permission issue in GCP. We updated the service account permissions and forced a renew of all the certificates. Service resumed at around 10:30AM UTC (just under 2 hours after the initial outage).
From Pinecone’s published incident history: for incidents before Rewindex began polling this status page, only the final update text is available.
Archive proof
Rewindex commits each version of an incident it captures to a daily checkpoint, chains it to the day before, and has the checkpoint timestamped by FreeTSA and DigiCert.
How the archive is checked, and what it cannot prove.
This incident predates live tracking (October 17, 2026). It came from the vendor’s own published history, which is not covered by checkpoints.
Impact, status and times are the vendor’s own, as last archived. View on status.pinecone.io (opens in new tab).
