Segment: Optional Identify events sent to Google Analytics server side destinations
Timeline of updates
- resolved
A bug in our Google Analytics integration resulted in identify calls being sent to GA for all enabled sources sending server side data or client data via cloud mode. The affected period is over a 25 minute period. These will appear as "User Enriched" events in GA, so the event count may be increased by a few percent from 11:10 AM to 11:35 AM. These are non interactive events and should not affect your session counts. The bug has now been patched and no data has been lost.
From Segment’s published incident history: for incidents before Rewindex began polling this status page, only the final update text is available.
Archive proof
Rewindex commits each version of an incident it captures to a daily checkpoint, chains it to the day before, and has the checkpoint timestamped by FreeTSA and DigiCert.
How the archive is checked, and what it cannot prove.
This incident predates live tracking (October 17, 2026). It came from the vendor’s own published history, which is not covered by checkpoints.
Impact, status and times are the vendor’s own, as last archived. View on status.segment.com (opens in new tab).
