Mux: Some static rendition MP4s created from live streams are truncated in duration
Timeline of updates
- resolved
We have identified the issue as occurring when you add
mp4_supportto an asset while it is currently live. We will work on a fix to guard against this within our API, but in the meantime, make sure to includemp4_supportwithinnew_asset_settingsof the live stream, or only addmp4_supportto an asset after receiving thevideo.asset.live_stream_completedwebhook event. All MP4s created from complete live streams are created with the full duration.
From Mux’s published incident history: for incidents before Rewindex began polling this status page, only the final update text is available.
Archive proof
Rewindex commits each version of an incident it captures to a daily checkpoint, chains it to the day before, and has the checkpoint timestamped by FreeTSA and DigiCert.
How the archive is checked, and what it cannot prove.
This incident predates live tracking (October 17, 2026). It came from the vendor’s own published history, which is not covered by checkpoints.
Impact, status and times are the vendor’s own, as last archived. View on status.mux.com (opens in new tab).
