Bitbucket change history: Bitbucket has degraded performance

Bitbucket reported major degradation affecting API, Pipelines and Website from 2025-05-08 15:41 UTC to 2025-05-09 11:17 UTC (19 h 36 min). Its postmortem attributed website and API latency to an internal Atlassian service’s backfill job overloading the primary database with expensive queries; the database automatically failed over.
