GitLab Duo had a major outage: starting new chats with AI catalog agents failed as websocket connections immediately dropped. The incident started at 2026-09-08 08:54 UTC and was resolved at 2026-09-08 09:57 UTC, lasting 1 h 3 min; GitLab reverted the merge request that introduced the failure, restoring custom/catalog agents.
