# Archive integrity

Every record Rewindex captures live (since 2026-10-17) goes into a daily Merkle tree (RFC 9162). Each day's checkpoint includes the previous checkpoint's hash and is timestamped (RFC 3161) by FreeTSA and DigiCert. This proves a record existed by the timestamp and has not changed since; it cannot prove the vendor served it. Next run: 2026-10-21 00:41 UTC.
